Anole at the Fountain
Conditioned air blows up from the floor vent
and brushes the window glass across from my desk.
The cool dry air on the inside
condenses hot humid air on the outside
and forms drops of water
that run slowly down the glass
and forms a tiny puddle.
An anole comes every day
to the cool vertical pool
to drink, slowly licking the clear drops
from the clean pane.
I'm refreshed watching
his relaxed respite.
