January 1960 (ix)
I saw that your heart belonged to another.
Yes, even as we were warmed by the fire,
It was shown to me
Your love I could never know.
I must say goodbye, my love.
Although you were known to me only in dreams,
I felt as if they were real.
But real they shall never be.
I shall find
One who needs my love.
Until that one comes,
My heart and soul must live in a world alone.
A world in which love is foreign.
But all is not lost.
I still have a few precious memories.
Memories of us.
Memories that no one can ever replace.
And so, for that,
I thank you,
