Simon,Just got back from MB...was great. We stayed at the Deauville -- built in 1957. Certainly not the colorful life you expect on MiaBch. The hotel's fame is that The Beatles were there in 1964. After performing for the first time in the US, on the Ed Sullivan show, they flew to Miami, stayed at the Deauville on Miami Beach. Then the next week the Ed Sullivan Show originated in the Napoleon Ballroom of the Deauville with The Beatles. Don Rickles was playing the lounge. Just how cool was MB in Feb '64? Just how cool.
