Where do I see myself now?

New Year’s Day question:
Where do I see myself now?

One place I see me, daily,
is through windows in a wooden door I pass by,
Monday through Friday,
an entrance to an empty office,
decorated with a wall mirror
too big for the small space.

Without enough stuff in the empty room to reflect
the mirror reaches, stretches out
through the windows in the wooden door
to reflect any who pass by as I,
secretly reflecting them, usually,
except for me
who always looks,
sometimes with a quick side glance,
sometimes with a full-on stare
for a long full second.

I see myself in many places at the start of the year,
striving to be alert,
striving to always notice.
